It's ridiculous! If I'm being honest, I really don't know how to cook. Nor bake. Oh no, no, no! But because I strongly love food, it's a pressing kind to know how to make a dish that will suddenly vanish that idea if I have unsuspecting guests in the house. You feel me? But what can I do?
Well, enough with my blah blah. While I'm poor in that skill, I make it up with my patience to follow EASY. TO. UNDERSTAND. RECIPES. Like, if there's some jargon on the instruction I would probably bleed. :-P
And guess what, I will even share to you (the dumb way, I guess) how I do my baked potatoes minus the oven (a slow clap for me, please)!
So, this is to my equally non-domestic friends who would probably throw to the wind any bathing suit-related goals once you taste it. Haha!

Cheesy Baked Potatoes
INGREDIENTS
500 grams sweet baby potatoes
500 grams ground beef
1/2 cup grated quick melt cheese
2-3 beef cubes
1 teaspoon of cornstarch
olive oil
2 small onions, chopped
salt
500 grams ground beef
1/2 cup grated quick melt cheese
2-3 beef cubes
1 teaspoon of cornstarch
olive oil
2 small onions, chopped
salt
FOR THE POTATOES:
- Wash the potatoes thoroughly with water. Do not peel them. When you're satisfied with your cleaning, put them in a cook pot and boil until tender. Use 2-3 beef cubes for a tasty broth.
- When cooked, remove the potatoes from the broth. I set aside a cup or less of the broth and used it for my toppings.
FOR THE TOPPINGS:
- Preheat frying pan with olive oil. Toss the chopped onions when ready, then the garlic, and the ground beef.
- Season with salt.
- Sautée until medium brown.
- Toss it on top of the potatoes placed on aluminum pan which will be perfect for oven toasting.
- For extra creamy and cheesy toppings, I use a teaspoon of cornstarch and grated cheese. On a separate mixing bowl or cup, dissolve the cornstarch with the hot beef broth. Then the cheese and mixed well with the cornstarch to just the right thickness. You can add more broth or cornstarch as you wish depending on how you'd like to have creamy thick toppings.
- Once ready, pour on to top the potatoes with beef.
- Heat the pan in an oven toaster to just enough time when you see a baked-like finish of the toppings.
Or just the grated quick melt cheese if you'd like to have simpler cheesy toppings. |
Easy right?
Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy with your favourite weekend people at any given day!
