Children are insatiable with activities! I don’t know if it’s like that for you, but I have a hard time following my 7 and a half-year-old mini (half is so important lol)!

What to do in the greater Quebec City area during fall with your family? Here are my 19 best activities!

1. Picking apples

I like picking apples, and I LOVE to eat them baked as an apple crumble! lol

In fact, picking apples can be a great family activity to do: bring a blanket, a light meal, a good bottle of wine, and have a picnic! Some orchards even have playgrounds for children, animals to discover, and other offers tractor rides to entertain them!

If you pair this with a visit to a cider factory, everyone will have a great day

You will find some orchards on the South Shore of Quebec, in St. Nicholas, and also on the famous Ile d’Orleans!

This year we went to the Allen-Demers Orchard,and we really had a good time! It’s a very nice little orchard.

The Genest Farm is very popular for young families, as it offers plenty of activities for children.

2. Visit the Citadel of Quebec

If you like history a bit, you will very much enjoy a visit to the Citadel of Quebec. Visiting the Citadel, you will discover more than 300 years of history, in addition to being able to admire an incredible view of Quebec City and the St. Lawrence River.

3. The Mega Park at the Galeries de la Capital Shopping Center

I almost feel bad about adding a shopping mall to my list of family activities, but if you live around here, you know how popular the Mega Park of the Galeries de la Capital is!

In fact, the Mega Park has 18 rides, for the young and the young-at-heart.

There is also the Patinarium, a beautiful skating rink where you can navigate a lovely skating path.

4. The Bora Park

The Valcartier water park is really fun! In summer, you can easily spend a nice long day in the outdoor slides, and it’s really fun! In winter, snow slides are great too!

As for fall, the Bora Parc, the 102,000 sq ft indoor water park, is better suited for the weather. There is a large wave pool, more than 14 water slides, a family pool with water games, a multi-activity adventure river, a double surf wave, and a terrace restaurant.

5. Quebec’s Aquarium

For animal lovers, theAquarium de Québec is a must! You can admire 10,000 marine animals: fish, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, and marine mammals, like walruses!

6. The Samuel-de-Champlain Promenade

We love going cycling on the Samuel-de-Champlain Promenade. This bike path, where you can also walk, rollerblade, also offers several picnic areas and playgrounds scattered here and there for children.

7. GeoRallyes across the Old Quebec

Inspired by geocaching,this activity makes us discover many fascinating places in Old Quebec.

8. The Grand Marché de Québec

For young and old epicureans, the Grand Marché de Québec is always nice to visit! You’ll find plenty of unique local products and flavors.

9. Arbraska Duchesnay

Arbraska Duchesnay is an aerial adventure course with stunning views of Lake St. Joseph, and it’s only 30 minutes from Quebec City. There are courses for all ages, including one for 7 to 11-year-olds, a 1000-foot zip line, and an extreme loop for the more daring.

10. I-Saute

I-Saute is an indoor trampoline park, and believe me: it’s really fun for all ages!!

11. Montmorency Falls Park

If you want a stunning panoramic view of a spectacular 83-meter-high waterfall, then Montmorency Falls Park is for you. You can also try the zip line, the via ferrata, or just walk along the few easy trails, not to mention the hundreds of steps you can climb to burn your little one’s energy.

12. Chutes-de-la-Chaudière Park

Just a few minutes from Quebec City, the Chutes-de-la-Chaudière park offers several great trails to walk, and you can even go down to the foot of the falls for a picnic!

Close to home, we regularly spend a few hours there. We love it!

13. Cyclo Services

The Cyclo services offer you to discover my beautiful city of Quebec by bike! You can either rent a bike there or take a guided tour of Quebec City.

14. Maizerets Domain

Very nice place to go for a walk, have a picnic or even a nap in the sun! Domaine Maizerets is nicknamed the “Central Park of Quebec City”, there are beautiful playgrounds, a public swimming pool, and even a maze!

15. Jacques Cartier Beach Park

And yes, Quebec City has a beach! It is not white sand, and I do not advise you to swim in the St. Lawrence River. But in the fall, with all the beautiful colored leaves in the trees, the easy-to-navigate trail on foot or by bike, it’s really a beautiful place.

If you continue your walk to Cap-Rouge, you will discover the place where Jacques Cartier established his first colony in 1541, and if you continue a little further, you can refuel with a famous ice cream cone at Chocolat Favoris

16. Public Ste-Foy Market

To find fresh, local food, visit the Sainte-Foy Public Market!

17. Plains of Abraham

The Plains of Abraham are very well located: close to the busy and famous Grande-Allée and its restaurants! It’s a perfect place to relax, throw the ball, and if you go near the National Museum of Fine Arts of Quebec, you’ll find a children’s playground (and a swimming pool open in the summer).

18. Family Square – Place Jean Béliveau

Another beautiful playground for the kids is located in Place Jean Béliveau. They are brand new!

19. Beauport Lake Outfitter

Just a few minutes north of Quebec City is the beautiful Beauport Lake. At the Beauport Lake Outfitter,you have a wide range of fall activities such as fishing, horseback riding, hiking, and in the winter you can rent a snowmobile to ride on the ice or even go on a dog sled ride!
