So we had an uneventful walk to the Golden Globe Theater, which incidentally is celebrating its centenary year. It's quite a beautiful building on the inside and out. Once inside we waited in the foyer - the doors open an hour before the show, but the seating starts half an hour before. We had seats in the mezzanine section, (row H ) and they were great seats - we were able to see the stage very clearly. The show began promptly at 1pm and was very engaging. There were lots of families and children, and everyone was very well behaved - no phones rang etc. Half way through they had a 15 minutes intermission, where we stepped out for some very expensive snacks [popcorn and a cherry soda($35/-!)] After the intermission the audience was decidedly more participating, clearly having gotten into the "spirit"of things ;)
After the show it was an easy walk back to the hotel to pick up the car. The staff was very nice and offered us the use of their lounge and water while we waited for the valets to bring the car around. All in all I am glad we didn't allow the reputation of the mean streets of SFs tenderloin keep us from a great show.
