Splendidly Magical Springtime in Franklin, TN

There is something Splendidly Magical about springtime in Franklin, TN. Would you agree? I mean just this past week, like magic blue irises have shown up in my backyard. I’m sorry, I do think the multiplying of bulbs and the reemergence after a long winter’s sleep is pretty magical.

Maybe I’m a dork, but I just love spring in Franklin. From the greyest, dreary landscape to abundant color everywhere…it’s simply breathtaking. Bradford pears, red buds, dogwoods, daffodils, buttercups and now my blue irises. They never last very long and you know…I don’t cut them because I’m pretty sure they worked very hard to get where they are and I don’t want to be the one who upsets them.

And here’s another springtime miracle. See this funky birdhouse? I meant to put a fresh coat of paint on it, but clearly it didn’t make it on the “to-do” list. And now I can’t paint it because my bluebirds have returned for the 3rd year in a row and the sweetest little nest you’ve ever seen is inside. Who cares what it looks like on the outside? My bluebirds think it’s a palace!

As usual…there’s always something happening in Middle Tennessee.

It’s time for the annual Buttercup Festival in Historic Nolensville on Saturday, April 9 from 10am – 5pm. . I’ve never been before and I’m not missing it this year. There will be over 100 vendors including Artisans, Food Trucks, Petting Zoo and Live Music. Visit all The District Shops for the true Flavor of Nolensville! This is going to be a shopping extravaganza! There truly is something for everyone at this small town family festival!! Free to attend & to park.

It’s time for some Music in the Vines at Arrington Vineyards. What’s better than wine, music and friends. The Grand Barn is open this weekend. Enjoy a wine tasting, buy a bottle or two, bring a picnic and kick back and listen to some live Bluegrass in the barn and Jazz in the Courtyard. It’s really a perfect way to spend a mellow Saturday or Sunday in Franklin.

I haven’t made it to Cheekwood this spring, but rumor has it that it’s absolutely spectacular. In all honesty it’s really hard to have a bad day at Cheekwood especially when everything is in bloom.

I’m hosting a splendidly magical spring retreat on Saturday, April 30. It’s taking place on a horse farm and it’s a perfect way to reboot your life. Here are details. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to email me.

In case you missed this post…my dear friend Brad Cole, award-winning singer/songwriter is debuting his new album on Tuesday, June 12. Details are here.

If you plan on gardening but aren’t sure what to do first to care for you lawn. Check out these tips from my fabulous lawn care company, Pure Green.  I’m a huge advocate for lawn care especially in Middle Tennessee. Besides it’s too nice to spend all your time pulling weeds.

And if you happen to be the mood to do a little house hunting or maybe you’re visiting and want to get a better feel for the area, give Tina Pierret a call and really go do some discovering. You never know until you see for yourself.

The spectacular Riverside Estate in Forrest Crossing. This home is magnificent.

It’s great to live in Franklin and spring is one of the many reasons.

What are y’all doing this weekend? Leave a comment so we can all benefit.
