Come With Me to The Shabby Bee!

You know by now that I love a good story and beautiful things and when they come in a package, it makes me so happy. Come with me to explore The Shabby Bee.

Have you been to Nolensville lately? Have you taken an afternoon to do some shopping in this lovely town that is definitely on the rise? If not, maybe an afternoon of shopping in Historic Nolensville will be part of your spring agenda.

Make sure you stop at The Tanner House and visit The Shabby Bee.

Owner Tina Bradley and I have been Facebook friends for almost a year now and until the other day, we’d never met, but I always drooled over the exquisite painted furniture she shares. It was finally time to set out and meet in person. And just like I suspected, Tina is lovely and fun, uber talented and The Shabby Bee is delightful.

I love when adults reinvent their lives because of something unexpected. Tina and her second husband were a busy, career-oriented, on-the-go couple who had 4 children to care for. Tina worked as the assistant to the VP of merchandising at Kirkland’s – a pretty great job as she told me. But God had another plan for her when she became pregnant with her 5th child. Surprise!!!!!

Not content to travel and work crazy hours, both Tina and her husband left their careers and started over. Tina wanted the freedom to be home with her new baby and her other children, but didn’t have a clue as to what she would do.

After awhile of being home, she was a little bored and this is when she purchased some Annie Sloan Paint and refurbished her kitchen dining set. “After that, nothing in our home was off limits.” Tina had the painting bug and she got really, really good at it. I don’t know if you’ve tried to paint furniture and make it look unique and rich, but it’s a talent.

Tina clearly mastered the art of painting way better than I did.

She posted her pieces on Facebook and friends began asking her to redo their furniture. Hello new business! The Shabby Bee evolved from Facebook and Instagram posts and today, Tina has a room in The Tanner House in Nolensville along with doing painting special pieces at her home. I told you it was a good story.

Tina will paint anything, but you won’t find really bright colors. She works in pastels and neutrals and there’s depth to her pieces.

Such yummy colors.

You should know that she’s also a passionate lover of children and The Shabby Bee has been infused with specialty children’s items like this little Tooth Fairy Door!

Adorable little gift.

You’ll find  Jolie Wood Art that has been crafted just for The Shabby Bee, along with  Angelique St. Claire pillows all in calming pastels.

And check out these adorable quilts for the baby on the go!

I’m also excited to announce that very soon,  world-renowned artist Rob Hendon of famed “Hendon Guitars,” is creating “Baby Hendons” just for The Shabby Bee!

The Tanner House is an old house converted to a vintage shopping experience. It’s filled with great finds from a variety of vendors. It’s a perfect place to peek into corners and find a treasure.

Check out this before and after of a console Tina did. It arrived as nothing by rough wood, but look at it now!

The Shabby Bee is open Tuesday – Sunday.
