The Great Smoky Mountains Easter Arts & Crafts Show Comes to Town March 24 – 26

Looking for hand-painted scenes of the Smokies’ most arresting flora and fauna? Check. How about purses, bird cages, walking sticks, and leather goods? You’re covered – and then some.

This March, the Great Smoky Mountain Easter Arts and Crafts Show is open to the public from March 24 to March 26. Tons of local goodies ranging from handwoven baskets to delectable jams to colorful pottery will be available for purchase.

The arts and crafts show is held in the Gatlinburg Convention Center, and admission is free to the public.

The Show
The Easter Arts & Crafts show boasts a wide array of arts and crafts, including pottery, woodcarving, candle-making, quilting, weaving, broom-making, painting, and more. Free, friendly demos are part of the show. Watch artisans expertly weave baskets, and then wander the aisles to pick out authentic Smoky Mountain gifts and mementos created by Smoky Mountain artisans.

Don’t be shy: The artisans love to talk about their craft, and they’re happy to answer questions. You’ll be leaving this craft show with new knowledge if nothing else!

Carrying on Tradition
The show is hosted by the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, a group of working craftspeople and artists who further the Smoky Mountain tradition of craftsmanship. Some of the artisans of the community are second, third, and fourth-generation artisans making their living in the same way that their ancestors did, as long ago as the 1760s.

Tip: Want more? Feel like you’re stepping back in time when you visit the artisans’ home base at the Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community, located 3 miles from downtown, where more than 100 artists and artisans produce their goods by hand. Look for the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community’s logo to identify members.
