The Smoky Mountain summer heat is hot and the crowds can be intense! Are you looking for the perfect escape? Look no further! Why not spend an afternoon tubing down a refreshing Smoky Mountain river?

Tubing in the Smoky Mountains is our favorite way to escape the crowds and heat. There are several operators in the area (listed below), but generally speaking approximately $10 will buy an afternoon of fun and no skill is required. These operators generally offer river tubing from Memorial Day to Labor Day so don’t miss your opportunity to get out on the river!

The online pricing for the tubing excursion with Smoky Mountain River Rat is $13 for adults (13 years and up), $10 for kids (ages 6 to 12), and free for kids ages two to five. These prices, which include two river sections, are valid for an unlimited day of tubing. Included in the price is your tube rental and your transportation.

Your price will include unlimited tubing on both the lower section of Little River and the upper section of Little River. The lower section, which is perfect for families with younger children (2+), is a relaxing, family-friendly float. The Upper River is dubbed the ‘adventure float’ and features fast-flowing rapids and swimming holes.

Once you are finished with the float trip, River Rat has a snack bar with hot dogs, pizza, nachos, BBQ, ice cream, and more!

If you are planning to tube, do yourself a favor and visit on a day when the river is at least average water levels (check the water level area of their website or call River Rat).

The cost of tubing with River Romp is $12 for ages 5+ and children 2-4 are free (in a paying adult’s tube). In addition to tubing, they also offer kayaks for $18 per person. The tubing excursion includes a life jacket, tube, and shuttle transportation to the starting point. The price is valid for an entire day on the water including float trips, picnics, and fishing.
