Things to do in the Lake District this February

If you’re heading to the Lake District for a holiday this year then there are plenty of one-off, special events and activities you can try. Whether you’re travelling with the family at half-term or just planning to enjoy a weekend in the area, there are plenty of things to keep you busy. Below are just some of the events you can get involved with this February.

Tea with Peter Rabbit

Throughout the year there will by nine tea parties at The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction in Bowness-on-Windermere and two of them are in February. On both 18th and 25th, these tea parties will give you the chance to enjoy a wonderful picnic lunch and a guest of honour will read a story from Beatrix Potter’s wonderful collection. After the tea party there is plenty of time to explore the attraction and visit Pete Rabbit, Jemima Puddle-duck and many more of Potter’s famous creations.

Conservation Days with the Cumbria Wildlife Trust

These are just some of the many events planned throughout February so if you’re interested in giving something back to the environment and getting involved in really worthy (and messy) conservation work, this is your chance.

With a foundation in the landscape and beauty of the Lakes, this year’s festival is taking visitors and festival goers to landscapes of great beauty around the world. It’s a course specially designed for avid bird watchers looking to improve their skills.

The Great Print Exhibition at the Rheged Centre

February is your last chance to see this year’s Great Print Exhibition at the Rheged Centre. It is the largest exhibition of original prints in the whole of the North of England. Over 60 artists are features and there are over 350 original prints to explore. As of 19th February the exhibition will be over for another year so this your very last chance to go and see.
