Yen Bai city is the provincial capital of Yen Bai province in the north west Vietnam. Yen Bai city covers an area of 58 square kilometres. It contains 4 wards including Yen Thinh, Dong Tam, Minh Tan, Nguyen Phuc, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Hong Ha, Yen Ninh, Nam Cuong, and Hop Minh. There are 8 communes are Minh Bao, Tan Thinh, Tuy Loc, Van Phu, Van Tien, Gioi Phien, Phuc Loc, and Au Lau.

Getting to Yen Bai Yen Bai

You can get to Yen Bai Yen Bai by taking the overnight train from Hanoi. There are both night and day trains taking you from Hanoi train station to Yen Bai train station is located in Yen Bai city.

You can also rent a car from Hanoi. The car journey offers the chance to discover the northwest region of Vietnam.

There are public buses from Hanoi to Yen Bai. There are more than one departure a day at My Dinh bus station. Please bear in mind Hanoi local buses are usually full at weekend. Tickets can be reserved in advance through transport company or travel agents.
