Top places in Kensington and Chelsea to watch Euro 2016

Worried about missing the the biggest football tournament of the year when staying with us at the Hotel Amsterdam in Earls Court? Not sure where to watch Euro 2016 in Kensington and Chelsea?

We’ve got you covered? Below, our resident football fans give us their top picks for the top places in the area to see every second of the action as Europe’s biggest teams do battle for championship glory this June and July.

Famous Three Kings (171 North End Road, W14 9NL),

Located just over five minutes from your Earls Court Hotel by the District Line, Famous 3 Kings is renowned throughout West Kensington and beyond for boasting more TV screens than any other venue anywhere in London.

Renowned by the locals as the only place to catch live football in the area, this traditional English pub promises a rambunctious atmosphere, affordable drinks and food served from morning to night.

Guaranteed to be showing pretty much every single second of Euro 2016 action in one of the four large, sports-themed rooms, there’s also live music on Friday night, making it the perfect venue for celebrating your country’s big victory in style.

Broadway Bar & Grill

474-476 Fulham Broadway, SW6 1BY

A regular haunt for Chelsea F.C fans due to its close proximity to the club’s Stamford Bridge home ground, Broadway offers a smart, relaxed atmosphere in which to catch all of the England games as well as the Euro 2016 quarter-finals, semi-finals, and grand final on July 10th.

Much like The Game, there’s gorgeous grub on offer, along with reasonably priced drinks and a some of the friendliest service in South West London.

Staying in the area with friends who aren’t quite so keen on watching the football? Broadway is probably the best place to be; though there’s plenty TV screens showing the games, there’s also a smaller, quieter area to get away from the hustle and bustle of match day.

The Games

180 Earls Court Road, SW5 9QG

Based just down the road from the Amsterdam Hotel on Earls Court Road, The Game boasts a reputation as the area’s number one venue for live sport.

Inside, you’ll find a 90s-nostalgia theme and a compendium of retro arcade games to keep you entertained pre and post kick-off.

Meanwhile, the venue’s own kitchen is on hand to serve up mouthwatering snacks and pizza as you join in a lively, party-like atmosphere for every big game during Euro 2016.

Frankie’s Diner

Stamford Bridge, Fulham Rd, London SW6 1HS

For an atmosphere that’s a little less rowdy, take the tube from Earls Court Station to Fulham Broadway to witness the action in one of the area’s favourite sports diners. As you’ll likely gather from the American-style decor, this place combines US-style snacks with all the action from the biggest Euro 2016 group and final stage games.

More Recommendations from further afield

Planning to catch the game whilst out and about exploring London? Here’s just two more places a short tube ride away.

Lords Cricket Ground VIP Event

Saint John’s Wood Road, NW88QN

A recommendation for our business accommodation guests looking for the perfect way to entertain their clients during Euro 2016, or indeed, simply for the die-hard supporters among you. On June 16th, Lords Cricket Ground will play host to the ultimate Euro 2016 VIP experience as England take on Wales in one of Group B’s most hotly anticipated encounters.

Tickets run at several hundred pounds each, though this includes not only a luxury suite to watch the game, an exquisite three-course lunch and post-match entertainment, but also a Q&A session with legends Stuart Pearce and Dean Saunders.

Zlatans Pop-Up

Clapham High Street,  SW4 7UH

Aren’t especially keen on going to all that expense for the England game? Don’t worry, there’s still plenty of places to catch it live.

For one of our favourites, take the tube from your Earls Court hotel and get off at Clapham Common. A few moments later, you’ll be among a ractious crowd in the arena-style set up of Zatlans Euro 2016 pop-up.

At time of writing, the venue -which is ticket-only entrance- was only showing select games in the group stages, though home nations fans can be sure to see all of England, Ireland, and Wales’ matches, including the big England vs. Wales showdown.
