Christmas With The Stars 2017

Tuesday, December 5th (7.30PM)

Feeling the holiday spirit already?

So are we, which is why we’re so looking forward to taking the short walk from our hotel to the world famous Royal Albert Hall for this year’s Christmas With The Stars spectacular.

Hosted by Radio 2′s Listen to the Band presenter, Frank Renton, this star-studded evening of yuletide entertainment is the perfect way to kick off your festive season.

With the venue’s impressive grand organ roaring to life for the occasion and Renton’s own Brass Machine in full swing, Christmas With the Stars promises a night of rousing carols, Christmas classics, and family-friendly sing-a-longs.

Disney in Concert: Beauty and The Beast

Saturday, December 9th (2pm and 6.30pm)

Regular readers of the Amsterdam Hotel blog may remember that, just a few short weeks ago, we were getting excited about this truly special event which sees Disney’s recent Beauty and The Beast film screened with an accompanying live score performed by the prestigious Philharmonia Orchestra.

Now we’re even more excited because the day is almost upon us.

Ideal for those of you staying at our hotel in Kensington and Chelsea on a family Christmas break, Beauty and The Beast sees Emma Watson star as Belle,  the eponymous beauty in question, with an all-star cast including Sir Ian McKellen, Ewan McGregor, and Emma Thompson supporting.

Whilst the film itself plays live on the Royal Albert Hall’s huge screens, the Philharmonia Orchestra will perform Alan Menken’s Oscar-winning score, including all the classic songs you may remember from the original Beauty and the Beast Movie.

Ellie Goulding & Friends (in aid of Streets of London)

Monday, December 11th (8pm)

Whether she’s letting it burn, burn, burn, or crooning the 50 Shades soundtrack, there’s no doubt that Ellie Goulding is one of Britain’s top pop exports of the past decade.

Here, the Halcyon Days superstar brings a host of special guests to the Royal Albert Hall for a special, one-of-a-kind celebration in support of homeless charity, Streets of London.

Last year, Goulding was joined by Jack Garratt, Gabrielle Aplin, and Laura Mvula for a very special night of music and goodwill.

This year, the guests remain a surprise, but if there’s one thing we can all be sure of, it’s that this unique fundraising concert is going to be a night to remember.

Carols By Candlelight

Saturday, December 16th – Sunday, December 24th (multiple afternoon and evening performances)

Whether you’re joining us in mid-December to sample London Christmas shopping at its most festive and luxurious, or whether you’re staying with us at our Earls Court Road hotel over the holiday itself, there’s no reason to miss this enchanting Christmas carol performance – it takes place regularly right through the holiday, from December 16th until the evening of Christmas eve.

The Nutcracker

Thursday, December 28th – Sunday, December 31st (multiple afternoon and evening performances)

Last but no means least, we finish a December full of incredible shows with an all-time favourite that makes its first appearance on the Royal Albert Hall stage.

Making their debut at the Kensington & Chelsea venue, Birmingham Royal Ballet presents a Christmas classic that delivers magical, yuletide entertainment for all the family.

With Tchaikovsky’s rousing score resonating throughout the great hall, you’ll be transported to an enchanted realm of dancing snowflakes and sugar plum fairies, all performed in truly captivating fashion by the show’s exceptionally talented stars.
