From Thursday, March 16th to Sunday March 17th, London’s annual Classical Spectacular makes its long-awaited return to Earls Court, bringing with it the dazzling array of light, sound, and performance that has earned it the reputation as the UK’s Greatest Classical Music show.

A Musical Performance Like Nothing Else on Earth

A firm favourite with guests at our hotel near the Royal Albert Hall for the past several years, Classical Spectacular sees John Rigby conduct the world renowned Royal Philharmonic Orchestra through stirring renditions of well-loved classics, all set to a dazzling laser and light show that truly has to be seen to be believed.

Across each of the four nights (with both matinee and evening performances on each day), the Royal Philharmonic will be joined by an ensemble cast of musical heavyweights, each adding something special to this one-of-a-kind show.

Soprano Ilona Domnich and tenor Alexander James Edwards will be joined on Thursday and Friday’s shows by the Royal Choral Society, whilst weekend shows see them backed by the acclaimed London Choral Society.

Elsewhere, the British Imperial Military Band will be joining in with proceedings, as will a troupe of world class dancers, all coming together to ensure that Classical Spectacular is undoubtedly the must-see show of 2017.

Part of a Packed Programme of Entertainment Coming to the Royal Albert Hall This Spring

As excited as we are at the Amsterdam Hotel for what is set to be a remarkable evening of classical music, Classical Spectacular isn’t the only big name performance we’re eagerly anticipating in the next few months.

Right throughout March and April, the Royal Albert Hall will be playing host to a wealth of classical and contemporary music, performance, and live entertainment, proving once again that the historic venue really does offer something for everyone, no matter what their tastes.

Highlights of March’s programme include a ten-night run by comedian Russell Howard, a spellbinding performance from the innovative London Contemporary Orchestra on March 4th, and Titanic Live, a screening of the classic 1990s blockbuster set to a live score performed by Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra on March 10th – 11th.

That’s before we mention the hit Teenage Cancer Trust concerts we told you all about last month, featuring legendary hit makers like The Who, former front man of The Jam, Paul Weller, and the Pet Shop Boys performing live with the  Royal Philharmonic.

That show comes to an end on April 2nd, leading the way for another packed month of entertainment, including the annual celebration of theatre’s great and good at the Olivier Awards (April 9th), the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra performing the Music of James Bond on April 11th, and Classic FM Live on April 18th.
