Five Top London Restaurants You Haven’t Yet Tried

From high powered business lunches to indulgent evenings spent sampling the very best in international cuisine, staying at the Amsterdam Hotel means you never have far to go to find a top Restaurant to suit any occasion or palate.

Regular guests at our South West London hotel may already be familiar with the mouthwatering delicacies served up by the likes of Masala and The Troubadour, not to mention the unique experience of dining at Evan and Peels Detective Agency. Though whilst each of these is no doubt in a league of their own, they’re only the top of the proverbial iceberg when it comes to London’s bountiful array of outstanding eateries.

Below, we’ve rounded up just five of the top London restaurants you haven’t yet tried, but absolutely should on your next visit to the Amsterdam Hotel.

222 Veggie Vegan

222 North End Rd, W14 9NU

Let’s start close to home, shall we? This delightful vegetarian eatery is only a few minutes walk from our hotel near the former Earls Court Exhibition Centre.

Popular with those attending the many events at the London Olympia, 222′s unique dishes are cooked up by critically acclaimed vegan chef, Ben Asamani.

Those staying with us whilst on business in Earls court will also be glad to note that the restaurant serves up a delicious lunchtime buffet, where you can tuck into as much raw salads and gorgeous hot dishes as you can manage.

Cottons Restaurant & Rhum Shack

157-159 Notting Hill Gate, Kensington, W11 3LF

There’s only one place to go in London for authentic Caribbean cuisine, and that’s Notting Hill. Yet among the plethora of similar-styled eateries dotted around the area, there’s one that stands out above the rest.

The sister restaurant of the original Camden-based Cottons, this upbeat, upmarket restaurant serves up traditional staples (looking for the best jerk chicken in London? Cottons have it) and ambitious, high-end dishes alike.

Inside, you’ll find the decor sleek, smart, and stylish, making this as ideal for chowing down with friends whilst visiting Notting Hill as it is for a vibrant alternative to the normal, boring business lunch.

Franco Manca

151 Earls Court Road, SW5 9RQ

Another local favourite, this critically acclaimed pizzeria is less than a minute away from our hotel on Earls Court Road.

Here, you’ll find what over 200 TripAdvisor reviews refer to as the best pizza anywhere in London, served up on a heaven-sent sourdough base with a limited -though nonetheless incredible- selection of toppings.

Pizza is available to take in or eat out, though if you’re planning to dine in the restaurant, be prepared to queue. As one of the most popular places to eat in Earls Court, there’s rarely a quiet time to visit Franco’s.

The Barbary

16 Neal’s Yard, WC2H 9DP

Awarded five stars by TimeOut London, and placed in the top spot for their best new restaurant opened in London this year, this instantly gratifying counter-bar style restaurant gives the impression of something truly special the moment you walk through the door.

And boy, does The Barbary live up to first impressions.

Dishes are inspired by North African cuisine, with ingredients and recipes from a broad cross section of countries along the same Barbary coast which gives the restaurant its name.

The perfect place to eat after an enchanting night at the theatre, The Barbary in Covent Garden is less than 20 minutes away via tube from Earls Court Station.

Frenchie

16 Henrietta St, Covent Garden, WC2E 8QH

Straight from the cobbled alleys of France itself comes this Parisian bistro in the heart of Covent Garden.

Easily accessible via tube from our hotel on Earls Court Road, Frenchie’s decor is as charming and chic as its menu is elegant and exciting.

Proprietor and head chef Gregory Marchand cooks an array of authentic French dishes that are just to die for, with a number of affordable sharing dishes which makes this an ideal spot for families and groups.
