Where to Watch the Best Fireworks Displays in London This November

Remember, remember, the fifth of November… Here at the Amsterdam Hotel in Kensington and Chelsea, we could hardly forget. After all, it’s one of our favourite nights of the year, a night when the sky comes alive in shower of colour, when crackling fires roar, bringing warmth to an otherwise chilly autumn night, and when we get to dig into a hearty feast of toffee apples, hot dogs, and other goodies.

Thinking of joining us this year? Here’s your guide on where to watch the best firework displays in London to guarantee a fifth of November you’ll never forget.

Coram’s Fields Fireworks Display

Friday, November 4th. Starts 3pm | Fireworks at 5.15pm

Less than thirty minutes across the capital from our hotel on Earls Court Road, Coram’s Fields in Central London get the Guy Fawkes festivities underway with a fun family day, complete with fairground rides, entertainment, and plenty of traditional bonfire night refreshments.

Guy Fawkes Festival and Fireworks Display

Saturday November 5th and Sunday, November 6th. Starts at 2pm | Fireworks at 7pm Royal Gunpowder Mills, Beaulieu Drive, Waltham Abbey, Essex, EN9 1JY

Based at the historic Waltham Abbey in Essex, the Royal Gunpowder Mills may be the one destination on this list that requires the furthest travelling from our hotel in Kensington and Chelsea (roughly 1 hour, 15 minutes via tube, but for our money, it’s well worth the visit.

Throughout the day, children and grown-ups alike will get the chance to learn all about the story of Guy Fawkes through engaging theatre performances, interactive science shows, and family-friendly activities. The whole thing culminates in an incredible Fireworks display at 7pm.

Last entry is 6.30pm and this is a ticketed event. More information can be found at www.royalgunpowdermills.com

Dukes Meadows Golf and Tennis Fireworks Party

Saturday, November 5th. Starts 4.30pm | Fireworks at 6pm and 8pm

Head over the River Thames to popular golf and tennis centre Duke Meadows, and you’ll find November 5th entertainment for all ages. For children, there’s rides and attractions, as well as a special kid’s firework display at 6pm. For mum and dad, there’s delicious hog roast, a second, grand firework display at 8pm, and even live music and a DJ until 1am in the club house.

As with the Royal Gunpowder Mills, this is a ticketed event. Booking and information can be found at www.dukesmeadows.com

Alexandra Palace Fireworks Festival

Friday November 4th. Starts at 4pm | Fireworks 9pm
Saturday, November 5th, 5th. Starts at 3pm / Fireworks at 8pm

It’s the big one, the one everyone’s talking about this year, and quite possibly the biggest fireworks spectacular anywhere in London.

Just over half an hour away from our hotel on Earls Court Road, the illustrious Alexandra Palace hosts two days of fireworks, family activities, and entertainment. There’s an ice rink, a German beer festival, and a Día de Muertos parade, all leading to an enormous firework and laser show.

This event is normally a sell out, attracting thousands of visitors each year. Tickets can be booked online at www.fireworks.london

Victoria Park Fireworks Night

Sunday, November 6th. Starts at 6pm | Fireworks at 7pm.

Finally, we come to the one fireworks event that is doubly significant this year, commemorating two monumental events in London’s history.

On the opposite side of London City from our hotel in Kensington and Chelsea sits the beautiful and picturesque Victoria Park. It’s here where the Mayor of Tower Hamlets plays host to a huge fireworks extravaganza which not only celebrates Guy Fawkes Night, but also honours the 350th anniversary of the tragic Great Fire of London.

Planning to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night 2016 in the place where it all happened? Book your stay at the Amsterdam Hotel London online today, or call our team now on 020 7370 5084.
