Jurassic Park in Concert

Thursday 3rd – Saturday 5th November 2016 (2.30pm / 7.30pm)

Last month, we told you about the Royal Albert Hall’s Films with Live Orchestra series, a must for movie buffs staying at the Amsterdam Hotel in Earls Court over the next few months.

Back then, it was Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone that had us excited. This month, it’s the turn of Steven Spielberg’s 1993 blockbuster, Jurassic Park.

The Oscar-winning film -which sees Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough and Laura Dem fighting for survival on a remote island ruled by dinosaurs- will be shown on a forty foot screen whilst conductor Ludwig  Wicki leads the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra in a live performance of John William’s famous film score.

Paul Simon – Live in Concert

Monday 7th & Tuesday 8th November (7.30PM)

As well known for his award-winning folk-rock collaborations with Art Garfunkel as he is for his own successful solo career, veteran singer Paul Simon performs in the Royal Albert Hall’s main auditorium for two consecutive nights this November.

Expect classic hits like The Sound of Silence and Bridge Over Troubled Water, as well as cuts from his 2016 album, Stranger to Stranger.

Support on both nights comes from singer-songwriter Rothwell, whose fantastic EP Two, was released earlier this year.

Christmas With The Salvation Army

Thursday, 24th November (8pm)

Those of you staying at the Amsterdam Hotel in Earls Court as part of an early Christmas break can’t afford to miss out on what is sure to be a spectacular evening of entertainment.

Special guests including Welsh rock ‘n’ roller Shakin’ Stevens (famous for his hit Merry Christmas Everyone) join the Salvation Army International Staff Band for rabble-rousing sing-alongs and fun for the whole family.

Jools Holland and His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra

Friday 25th & Saturday 26th November (7.30pm)

Whether you know him from his hit BBC TV show, Later…, his collaborations with a veritable who’s who of contemporary music, or from his impressive back catalogue of million-selling albums, there’s no denying Jools Holland’s’ status as something of a legend in the British music industry.

Here, the pianist, bandleader, and composer joins his famous Rhythm and Blues Orchestra on  stage for two high-octane performances, playing a plethora of hits from the past several decades.

With a host of special guests rumoured to appear, the two Jools Holland concerts are an absolute must for serious music fans staying with us at our hotel near the Royal Albert Hall this November.

Champions Tennis

Wednesday 30th November – Sunday 4th December, 2016 (11.30am to 7.30pm)

Finally, we come to something a little different than the standard celebration of music and culture that makes the Royal Albert Hall what it is.

At the end of the month, some of the biggest names in tennis, including Pat Rafter, seven-time Grand Slam Champion John McEnroe, and the one and only Tim Henman team up for five days of action which -if past years are anything to go by- are set to be as competitive as they are entertaining.
