Retail Therapy – 5 cute shops in Granada Spain

Sometimes Retail Therapy is the best way to add a little sparkle to a dreary day. Here are a few of the shops in Granada that I tend to head to when I want to look at shiny new things and enjoy an afternoon of window shopping.

Here are five of my favourites in the city centre.

Souvenirs in Granada

Munira Leather

Set on one side of Plaza Nueva in the heart of the historic quarter, Munira Leather has some fabulous gifts. The items on sale here are made by local artisans and are of high quality. Beautiful silk scarves with the mosaic patterns of the Alhambra palace walls and locally produced leather bags. Intricate silver jewellery and even iphone covers with typical taracea designs. Don´t miss the artwork towards the back of the store, they have some small paintings which won´t weight heavy in your luggage. A great place to find gifts or souvenirs to take home as a reminder of your visit.

Address: Plaza Nueva

Sabores Al Andalus

If clothing doesn´t get you in a sweet shop style tizzy, then this Cute shop will. A small store just off the Puerta Real. This stocks coffee, teas and freshly made pastries. There are Simon Coll chocolates (Barcelona chocolatier) stocked in beautiful vintage style tins. They also have lots of accesories for tea lovers, infusion balls, tea strainers, ceramics etc. On Friday and Saturday they make Pastela Moruna. Chicken pastry moroccan style.

Address: Acera del Darro, 2 Gallery: Pasaje Regina

Fashion stores in Granada

Hecate

This clothes shop is a delight. The well-chosen stock is mainly from labels Hoss Intropia, Indie and Cold, Fairly and a few others. For me this gives me the feeling of a sweet shop for little girls, when I walk I genuinely could ask for one in every colour.  This place is now one of my first stops for occasion wear. They always have cute little dresses for work and good wardrobe staples for everyday wear. They have just increased their sizes too. Some ranges are stocked up to European size 46. (about a size 16 in UK)  (The photo above is a dress I bought from Hecate in Summer 2013)

Address: Off Calle Mesones, Pasaje Conde alcala

Bimba & Lola

Although this isn´t exclusive to Granada I am often found browsing here. The clothes, shoes, handbags and accessories always attract me like a magnetic force towards to the black door. In Granada we have two stores,  at Calle Mesones and Calle Reyes Catolicos. Best time to go is in the sales or at the very beginning of the season for preview discounts.

You may like my post about Spanish shoes too.

Cuca

This sweet little shop in the Zaidin district has a quaint vintage feel. Packed with plenty of accessories and a selection of clothes, you will be surprised at the prices here. The pieces are competitively priced but feel artisan or different from large chains. This is a stop off for me to get a last minute accessory if going to a wedding or party. Recent purchases of mine have been a hot pink clutch bag and a gold dress belt.

Address: Avenida de Dilar 12, Granada  (Bus SN4 + LAC)

Did I miss a shop off the list?

I´m already thinking of a few shops in Granada that I can add in another post…
