Ivano-Frankivsk
Ivano-Frankivsk is a nice and cozy town with the Austro-Hungarian past. The city center is very compact.
Church of St. Mary of the Perpetual Assistance
Former Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary is one of the most valuable monuments of the city. It was built in the Baroque style as the tomb of Potocki. Now – a museum which every admirer will have in mind.
Completely pedestrian street. You can leisurely walk, admire the views and drink coffee or look for old entrances with stained-glass windows. Find something you love and most important is to see this beauty yourself.
The park has two ponds. The “Stone of Love” brought from Cana of the Galilee (the city where Jesus blessed the brides) appeared in the park in 2010.
Take your sweetheart and go to admire beauty.
An annual competition for blacksmithing held in Ivano-Frankivsk since 2002. Every year forged monuments on the streets of the city are becoming more and more.
Everyone should look at the tree of happiness.
Yaremche
The city emerged as a result of the merger of 3 villages. It would be desirable to live here directly on a bank of a river. Here is the largest souvenir fair, delicious local beer + wine + tasty white cheese, quads and trout fishing. And lots of nature.
Cascade Waterfall with the largest amount of water in Ukrainian Carpathians. The waterfall can be considered from all angles – from a narrow bridge over the Prut river, from the shore (from the side of the fair)
and even with a suspension bridge.
Place of legends. Oleksa Dovbush and opryshky successfully hid from the 2,5 thousandth army in these forests and rocks! The trail goes from the fair in Yaremche to Dovbush rocks and further – to the Probiy Waterfall.
Located nearby and give a great shower in the summer heat! “Huk” – this is a waterfall or a noise of water. There is about 5 km walk to waterfalls. Or walk from the hills of Khomiak and Syniak.
This is for extremals on jeeps (you can get there in a truck) or stable pedestrians (40 minutes from Maniava hill). Height is 20 meters. At the top – low
cascades with baths. Below is a young lake.
Lutsk
The most famous monument is the Lubart Castle (or Lutsk Castle). This is one of the few preserved Gothic castles. The castle has three towers and a temple of classical Byzantine art. There is also a story with mysterious multi-level underground passages.
Church of St. Peter and Paul –
built on the place of the former entrance tower and performed the defensive
function. Now there is an organ, great acoustics and concerts of classical music. Divine service is in two languages: Polish and Ukrainian.
House with Chimeras
A private house built by Holovan artist. Construction took about 30 years and is not finished yet.
