One of the most festive months of the year for Ukraine – August. We have compiled a list of holidays in August for you, as well as where you can celebrate them in the cities of Ukraine.

August 23 – Day of the State Flag of Ukraine

Day of the National Flag in Ukraine is celebrated on August 23. The holiday is established in accordance with the President’s decree of August 23, 2004 to honor the centuries-old history of Ukrainian statehood, state symbols of independent Ukraine, and to raise the respect of citizens to the state symbols of Ukraine.

This holiday is celebrated every year in almost all Ukrainian cities. Conduct a solemn ceremony, a large flag is carried across the city’s square, as well, state officials raise the flag and pronounce solemn speeches.

August 24 – Independence Day of Ukraine

One of the largest military parades will take place in Kyiv to the Independence Day of Ukraine in 2018, in which 4,5 thousand military and 250 units of equipment will take part.
This day will be a weekend for Ukrainians, so we advise you to spend your time maximum.

For example, Independence Day can be celebrated on the Expocenter of Ukraine, at the concert of Ocean Elzy, and of course, at a state parade.

August 25 – Aviation Day of Ukraine

Ukraine celebrated the professional holiday of military and civil aviators on August 27, as well as aviation industry and transport workers – Aviation Day.

The purpose of the holiday is to promote the healthy and positive use of leisure. Some Colombians arrange the wheels on their beds and ride around the city. Also, townspeople carry outside lounges, armchairs, varied food and watch for those who “lazy actively”, that means – participates in various events.
