Globe LTE Advanced Speedtest [2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz vs LAN Cable]

Globe LTE Advanced Speedtest [2.4 GHz Vs 5 GHz Vs LAN Cable]

Our office internet went down today and good thing I brought with me the Globe Lte Advanced prepaid wifi as back-up. I took this opportunity to compare speeds of the 2.4Ghz 5Ghz wifi bands as well as using the Lan Cable that came with the device.

I did 2 test runs with varying results and is due to the LTE nature of the wifi compared to fiber internet. On the first run, the 2.4Ghz was the fastest in terms of download speed but expectedly using the lan Cable would give you a much faster ping.

The same case was observed on my second test run with the lan cable having the fastest ping and this time also having the fastest download and upload speed.

Overall if you are using a desktop or a laptop which is in a fixed position then you should go ahead and opt for a lan cable but if you connect to your wifi using your phone and move around alot, I suggest you use the band steering feature of this device to automatically switch from 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz depending on signal strength.
