Nothing beats a cold beverage on a warm day. Well, maybe there is one thing better. Sitting at my favourite Hotel in Edinburgh centre with a single malt scotch in hand is perhaps the most ideal situation that I could find myself in.

Being from Texas, I do not have the opportunities to enjoy such an amazing beverage anytime that I want. Sure, we get the well known scotches, but I am speaking of those that you can only obtain in Scotland, made by lesser known distilleries. I have been to Scotland for a couple of business trips in the past 3 years, and every time I hear that my presence is required in that lovely country I jump for joy. Hands down, it is one of the best countries that I have had the pleasure of visiting in my limited travels. I have been to places such as Australia, England, and even Canada on occasion, but none of them compare to the atmosphere of Scotland.

There is just something about the people that keeps me wanting more. They seem to get me, understanding that I enjoy a stiff drink after a hard day at the office. Scotland is a place where one can check his worries at the door, occasionally forgetting them overnight. If you find yourself in Scotland for business, or if you want to make your Holiday destination Scotland, I can assure you that you will enjoy your time in that wonderful country; although I have only stayed in Edinburgh, and at a Perthshire hotel, I feel confident in generalizing all of Scotland. It is a place that is full of culture and history, while attempting to keep on top of technological trends. It is not like you are stepping back into the 18th century when you visit Scotland. It is just that they have a strong relation to their history and they take it very seriously. If you enter a pub and ask anyone of the locals about the history, be prepared to make a lifelong friend, as I have many by now.
