The Ammatara Pura Pool Villa in Lamai only opened in 2013 and with only 18 villas on a spacious amount of land, we're looking at some 5 star luxury here!
Each villa is set in its own private area which features a patio, balcony, swimming pool and Jacuzzi but keep in mind that it's build on a hill, so if you're not good on foot, better book a (more expensive) room on the beach.
One of the main features of the villas are that they are set in the style of a 1200 year old ancient Thai palace, the perfect fusion of Northern and Southern Thai architecture, featuring fine art from all corners of the kingdom.
At the Southern end of Lamai beach, there's a free tuk tuk service available to visit downtown Lamai.
This is 5 star luxury and the prices for the private villas are accordingly, but you get away from it all in a luxury setting with rather surprising architecture.
