A man was shot during an Armed Robbery in Little Woods on Monday night (April 22), New Orleans Police reported.

The shooting was reported at 9:34 p.m. in the 10000 block of Curran Boulevard. Police said the victim was approached by two men who took his backpack and demanded his money. One of the men pulled out a handgun and shot the victim once in the abdomen, police said.

The wounded man was taken to a hospital and his condition was not available late Monday.

The suspects were described as two males wearing burgundy hooded jackets at the time of the robbery.

Police had taped off the sidewalk of northbound Read Boulevard as well as the 10100 block of Curran Boulevard. Passing cars slowed to glimpse the scene and flashing lights, but the neighborhood was otherwise quiet.

Investigators placed yellow evidence cones in a small grassy lot near the intersection.
