Holiday Galicia Style in Pontevedra, Spain

Cambados - this lovely sleepy town is the home of Albarino wine. Arguably the best place for a wine-tasting treat is the Praza de Fefinanes, an attractive paved square bordered by fantastic buildings, a seventeenth century church and an intriguing bodega.



O Grove and A Toxa - O Grove is a traditional fishing village that has developed, with lots of bars, restaurants and places to stay, while still retaining it's functioning port feel. Try a trip on one of the glass bottom boats and find out more about the ria and the mussel rafts, or go over the bridge to the pine covered islet of A Toxa, playground of wealthy celebrities , here you will find high-priced hotels and restaurants and even a 9 hole golf course.



Isles of Ons & Cies- accessed by boat from Sanxenxo or Portonovo, these lovely islands are wild and windswept. There are fantastic tracks to walk with stunning views of the coast. Ons is home to a community of fishermen and there are a couple of bars and restaurants. Should you want to stay you can camp for free. Cies - is a sun worshippers paradise with the most attractive beaches.



A Lanzada - jam-packed with sunbathers in summer and surfers in winter this huge beach is the largest in the region, and only one of hundreds to delight in. Don't ignore the beach at San Vicente, which boasts a fantastic beach bar and wood burning grill called bar Tango. 

Combarro is famed for having the biggest assortment of Hórreos (traditional grain stores), in Galicia. Cross the Plaza and cut through the passage in the rocks, and you will uncover a smugglers paradise of old buildings, bars, restaurants and narrow cobbled streets. Just ideal for an atmospheric walk.

Like most of Galicia, the persistent scent of pine and eucalyptus hanging in the air, gives visitors a great feeling of well-being and enjoyment.  Add in some deliciously prepared and cooked Galician-style food in fantastic restaurants, the friendly locals, inviting bars and you can’t go wrong if you holiday Galicia !
