Disney Resort Spotlight: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is a deluxe resort at Walt Disney World with a southern Victorian-style theme. The resort is located across the Seven Seas Lagoon from the Magic Kingdom, and is one of the three deluxe resorts on the Magic Kingdom monorail route.

This resort evokes an elegant, luxurious, and romantic feel with its Victorian décor and Disney touches. It’s perhaps the most popular resort for celebrating a special occasion, and it houses Walt Disney World’s Wedding Chapel with gorgeous views of the Magic Kingdom beyond.

The resort’s main pool, the Beach Pool, features a water slide and cascading waterfalls. There’s also a fun water play area for kids themed to Alice in Wonderland. For a quieter pool experience, guests can also check out the Courtyard Pool.

There are a variety of room options at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. Most rooms sleep up to 5 guests with two queen beds and one day bed, and there are also a number of suite options. Guests can choose whether they would like to stay in the main building or one of the resort’s outer buildings, and can choose from garden view, lagoon view, or theme park view.

This resort is known for its dining options, and has some of the most refined dining venues at Walt Disney World. Guests can choose from character dining at 1900 Park Fare, to fine seafood at Narcoossee’s, to upscale Mediterranean at Citrico’s. For more casual dining, guests can visit the Grand Floridian Café, Garden View Tea Room, or grab a bite at the quick-service Gasparilla Island Grill. For the ultimate dining experience, guests can also indulge at Victoria & Albert’s, a AAA Five-Diamond Award-winning restaurant. Or, if you’d like to just relax with a drink, you can check out Mizner’s Lounge and listen to the live music playing in the lobby.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa offers boat and monorail transportation to the Magic Kingdom. Guests can also take the monorail to Epcot by taking the monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Center and transferring to the Epcot monorail. Bus service to the theme parks and Disney Springs is also available.
