This campground is popular and HUGE. There are two sections: loops for tents and soft sided vehicles (think hybrid trailers) surrounded by an electric fence to protect you from bears, and a huge area across the river for hard sided RVs. Both areas are close to the Lake Louise Village, just a short walk or free shuttle ride away, which offers a small grocery, a restaurant, deli, candy shop, gas station and liquor store. The tent/soft sided loops are beautiful with thick woods, spacious sites, but no hookups. The hard sided RV area has over a hundred sites, of not two hundred. Sites here are pretty much all the same: level with an electric hookup. Some sites have fire pits and some have peekaboo views of the majestic mountains of Banff. There are showers, restrooms, and a dishwashing station in this loop as well. From both camps you can hike a couple of kilometers to the main attraction: Lake Louise. If you wish to visit Moraine Lake, or prefer to take the shuttle to Lake Louise, book early and follow directions closely. We didn't, and it made more work for us in the end. The campground has a free shuttle from camp to the village and the park and ride, where you will catch the shuttles to the lakes. There is free firewood. Sites in both camps are on dirt pads and are level. In the RV area, you will most likely share your site stall woth another RV, pulling in in opposite directions, so interactions are minimal, but proximity can be an issue if your site-mate is departing at 4am to get a parking spot at Moraine Lake (yes, that is the time you have to leave to secure a spot). All in all, we loved it here. The close proximity to the lakes and the village were perfect and we loved the river views between the campgrounds.
