Mt. Pinos Campground, Frazier Park, California

About ninety miles North of Los Angeles in the Los Padres National Forest you will find Mt. Pinos in the small community of Frazier Park. The town of Frazier Park sits at an elevation around 4,600 feet, while the campground is at 7,300 feet. A winding drive from town up the slope of Mt. Pinos will take you past McGill Campground, then nearly to the summit where you will find Mt. Pinos Campground. The campground is small, with only 16 sites, mostly suited for small rigs less than 25 feet. Our site, #15, was one of the largest, but still required quite a few leveling blocks to get comfortable. All sites here, but especially the perimter sites, are spacious and have good privacy from your neighbors. A variety of pines sprinkle the campground and beautiful views are available from most sites. The interior roads are paved, as are site pads, but the road could use a repaving and is narrow. All site pads are unlevel. The campground is definitely primitive with no hookups, no water fill,
