The Sidecar Bar

In for something a little more casual for a date? The Sidecar Bar is the place. They have outdoor seating which can still be utilized on those cold September nights (remember to bring a jacket to offer your date if she gets cold! What ever happened to the oldschool chivalry?) Inside is a laid back atmosphere illuminated by red lights. It’s not too loud inside, so you can still have a good conversation. The Beer selection is awesome and the food was very decent.

Don’t expect anything too fancy. It’s good food, but it’s bar good. I had the chicken quesadillas which were very tasty. The chicken was cooked just right and they were juicy enough that I almost forgot to use the salsa and sour cream. My date (no, it wasn’t AT. It was a very cute girl) had the Nachos which were also quite good. They were topped with a nice blend of cheeses and beef. As far as beer goes, try the Reading Premium. It’s crisp and tasty and not too heavy or hoppy. It went very well with the quesadillas. Also, try the beer sampler. Our waitress asked us what we liked and she handpicked 4 beers that she thought we would enjoy. She did a great job. I can’t remember any of the names, but she knew what she was doing. After all, she’s a professional!

After dinner and/or drinks take stroll with your date through the outskirts of center city. 2201 Christian Street. There, planned everything for you. Go find a date at IKEA.
