When to go

The dual periods of March to May and September through November are generally, the best times for a visit. This is because you will be welcomed by mild weather, fewer crowds and more attractive prices with reference to accommodation and transport. Do avoid summer (June to July) if you’re staying on a budget while fall is perfect to hike.

Use public transportation

Subway systems underpin commuting across leading cities in the country with one-way fares costing a mere 1,350 KRW. On the flip side, a day pass can be purchased for 5,000 KRW while buses and trains appear the most cost-effective to get from point A to point B.

Find your way through Seoul

Undeniably, the heart and soul of South Korea is its capital city of Seoul. Replete with as many as 5 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the 6th tallest building in the world (Lotte World Tower), iconic temples, wonderful museums and a Soju-soaked nightlife culture; Seoul has a little bit of something for all likes. To cap it all off, the city proudly projects an enthralling street food scene which easily rivals the fancier, high-end restaurants that are located across the metropolis. If you have reserved a stay at Travelodge Myeongdong Euljiro which is a great Myeongdong hotel Seoul is known for, then visiting this city will be easy.

Explore Jeju Island

Dubbed the ‘Hawaii of Korea,’ Jeju Island with its natural environs is a dream destination and well worth the short flight out of Seoul. For an islet that houses the country’s tallest mountain of Mt. Hallasan, Jeju Island paves the way for a host of leisure pursuits. These include touring Yeomiji Botanical Gardens and spending time inside Jeju Haenyeo Museum where you will learn about the haenyeo divers and their obsession with collecting seaweed and shellfish.
