 Adventure-Filled Activities

As mentioned, you get peaks covered in snow here which makes skiing a popular activity to enjoy during the season. One will also find some of the best hiking trails in Lesotho amidst the slopes which also provide plenty of options for some mountain biking. This destination is ideal for horse riding too, as well as paragliding and abseiling, while you can additionally look to visit local villages and learn about the traditional customs and practices.

When to Go

The best time to visit the Maloti Mountains is during the dry season, which runs from May to September; this also coincides with the optimal period for skiing, especially between May and July. During the dry season, the weather is mild, and the skies are clear, making it an ideal time for hiking and other outdoor activities. That said, you can enjoy adventures here at other times too, though check ahead with local tour operators as to what’s available.
