Kandy is a quiet and calm city nestled in the gateway of the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka. The town is famous for the annual Esala Perahera that takes place in July.

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic

Commonly known as ‘Dalanda Maligawa’ among locals, this is the most popular attraction in Kandy. It is a religious venue, which holds a tooth of Lord Buddha. Children will love the museum dedicated to the taxidermied tusker Raja.

Peradeniya Botanical Gardens

These gardens, which were developed during the colonial era, make up a stunning location managed by the agriculture department of the University of Peradeniya. Children will love exploring it as there is ample space to run and explore.
