Accommodation

For accommodation in Guangzhou, apartments and hotels can easily be found, though decide which area to be based at. Tianhe, the Central Business District, home to properties like Star Residence ICC Guangzhou is ideal for corporate and leisure travellers alike; Haizhu and Yuexiu are some of the other well-known districts to consider too.

Sightseeing

Amongst the top attractions in Guangzhou are Canton Tower that offers stunning city views, the Chen Family Ancestral Temple and Shamian Island with its colonial architecture. You can also Visit the Guangzhou Museum of Art, enjoy theme park thrills at Chimelong Tourist Resort, unwind at Yuexiu Park, and shop till you drop at Beijing Road and the TeeMall!

Getting Around

The metro offers cost-effective transport with its ‘Line 1’ providing access to many key attractions. Public buses are available, while taxis offer a convenient option too; have your destination written in Mandarin in case the taxi driver doesn’t understand English. For a unique city perspective, take one of the water buses that run along the Pearl River.

When to Visit

Autumn to winter, between mid-October and February, is generally considered the best period to visit Guangzhou with cool and pleasant temperatures and relatively little rain. That said, you can also enjoy visits from spring to summer (March to early October); though temperatures gradually rise and there’s more chance of rain, there’s still plenty to do.
