Sanctuary History

Construction on the Sanctuary of Truth began in the 1980s and is still going on to this day. It was an idea that sprouted in the mind of Lek Viriyaphan who was known for founding several elephant sanctuaries. The Museum plans to showcase some of the finest carving art on the planet once it’s done.

At First Glance

If you’re staying at one of the Chonburi serviced apartments – for instance, the Somerset Harbourview Sri Racha – the museum is a relatively quick visit. You’ll immediately notice the intricate Brahma statues when you first arrive here – a taste of the amazing art and carvings on display here.

The Architecture

The beauty and elegance of Thai architecture are on full display here at the sanctuary. It’s important to keep in mind that almost the entirety of the museum’s main structure is made out of wood – teakwood, and Xylocarpa to be exact.

Things to Do

There’s plenty of art to enjoy and admire here – but that’s not all! Several shows are held at the sanctuary, including dances and musical events that celebrate Thai culture. You can also head outside and enjoy a thrilling ride on an ATV!
