When I need some serious sun-drenching and a complete recharge of my batteries, nothing beats a little getaway to the Canaries. By far my favourite island to escape to is Lanzarote – its beaches, nightlife and countless other activities make it the perfect location for some good old R ‘n’ R. It offers plenty of excellent resorts to choose from but I’m always drawn back to Puerto del Carmen, which is located in the southeast of the island.
