As you can see from our Hawkes Bay attractions page there is a lot to see and do around our Napier motel. For those of you travelling by car the roads are clearly signposted, easy to navigate, and you can always ask us for directions before heading out for the day.
Hawke’s Bay By Bike: One option that makes for a great day (or days) out is to either bring your own bicycles (if you have room that is!) or rent bikes here in Taradale and make use of the 200 km+ cycleways that have been developed around Hawke’s Bay. One local family-owned company with great service is Bike About Tours. Prices are around $50/day for adults, cheaper for children, and you can get tow-on bikes for kids who can’t ride themselves yet, as well as baby seats. This is also a great way to get around the many Hawkes Bay wineries.
Hawke’s Bay Buses: For those of you without a vehicle – who aren’t inclined to get rolling on 2 wheels – Hawke’s Bay has a good bus service known as “Go Bay”. Taradale is relatively central to both Napier and Hastings and there are buses heading in both directions. There is a bus stop right outside our Taradale Motel and the price is reasonable. Though the bus service is reliable and affordable, it will mean hopping buses and scheduling things well if you want to get to some of the places that aren’t on the direct route. Hawke’s Bay Taxis: Hawke’s Bay has a number of taxi companies and they will be happy to pick you up directly from our Napier motel. Some of the main ones are:

- Baywide Taxis
Supertrike Tours: Something a little different! Vic has a custom made Supertrike and spends his days cruising the numerous Hawke’s Bay attractions with delighted guests seated comfortably on the back. This is a must-do Napier experience that is well worth the price! You can see the website here.
