Fort George Cay – historical importance and picturesque beauty

Even though small in size, the Island of Fort George Cay is one of the richest islands of the Turks and Caicos Islands in terms of beauty and history. The island is just 30 hectares in size but a perfect destination for a blissful day out

How to get there

A historical fort

The recorded history of this island dates back to centuries. Thus, has now been declared and protected as a historical site. Visitors make it a point to explore the ruins of the fort built by the British when they go to Fort George Cay

Natural beauty

The pristine waters that surround the island and the white soft sandy beaches that spread for miles makes the island picture perfect. Since the island is uninhabited the natural beauty of it has been preserved well.

Things to note

Since the island is declared as a national park and a historical site all relics should be preserved and should not be damaged. Visitors are not allowed to take home any artefacts from the island.
