Pristine Places to Visit in the Maldives for an Amazing Vacay

Ranked among Asia’s top beach hubs, the Maldives is a nature lover’s dream come true. Here are some of the most pristine points of interest in the paradise isles.

Sun Island

Home to some of the most breathtaking beaches in the Maldives, Sun Island occupies pride of place in the South Ari Atoll. The best time to visit Sun Island is during the summer season from March to April when a wide variety of water sports activities are also accessible on its stunning beaches. Couples and honeymooners are known to frequent this island, which is also called Nalaguraidhoo Island.

Malé Atoll

A day trip from your base at Heritance Aarah Maldives or any one of the other luxury Maldives resorts to Malé Atoll is a must as this is the cultural epicentre of the country. With iconic heritage sites such as the National Museum, Grand Friday Mosque and several presidential palaces to its name, Male is also the retail capital of the archipelago. Male is at its finest during the November to April period.

Banana Reef

Tipped to be one of the best diving hotspots in the Maldives, Banana Reef is not only lined with overhangs and underwater caves but also staggering submerged cliffs and coral species. The marine species occupying this portion of the sea bed are also incredible, to say the least. Tourists who wish to dive in the area must visit between May and July.

Situated on the Vaavu Atoll, Alimatha Island is not only a great place to go snorkelling and diving but also to enjoy kayaking tours around the coast. There are many canoe tours organised by resorts on the island while kayakers will also find plenty of tour operators to organise excursions.
