While you’re in Tamarindo, talk to locals, but especially talk to non-locals. Ask them how they landed here. It will amaze you to learn how many of us came for a vacation, then never left. Keep pushing and that could be you. Staying in a Tamarindo vacation rental doesn’t guarantee you’ll never leave, but it opens a gateway.

Casa Kapalina makes the perfect place to forget your cares, but it may just convince you that Tamarindo makes a good home, and with good reason. Kapalina is not only close to the beach and town, it offers luxury accommodations at less than what the big resorts charge. Plus you don’t have to share the pool with anyone.

Casa Kapalina is 1/2 a mile from town, so it’s close enough to walk, but better if you take a cab or rent a car.

While many people get excited about being as close to town as they can, those feelings change after the first night. Tamarindo is a wonderful town, that turns into quite the party when the sun goes down.

If you’re a light sleeper or traveling with kids, it’s nice to have a retreat, even if you want to play a little yourself. It’s also nice to not have to go too far to find that retreat. That’s Kapalina, the goldilocks distance.

Comfy

In many ways, Kapalina feels like a house you’d find back home, but with a Costa Rican flair.

On the property, Costa Rica surrounds you with lushness, but when you’re lying on the sofa or king sized bed, all you’ll see is the back of your eyelids. When you’re floating on the surface of the pool or resting on a chaise lounger, you’ll think, this is the perfect blend of first world comforts with a tropical paradise.

We’ve outfitted the kitchen in Kapalina with modern design elements and everything you need to cook up a storm. Please, no real storms, though. We enjoy sunny days 100% of January. We’d hate to ruin our streak of perfect weather.

Cheap

With three bedrooms and two baths, you could sleep seven in Kapalina or you could rent a couple of rooms at the fancy hotel.

You will pay more for those rooms, though. Plus, you’ll have to share hallways and amenities with other hotel guests. That’s how it works.

Instead, enjoy the privacy of your own place, with your own security, for less than the staying at Big Fancy.

Clean

Of course, your accommodations are clean. They should be, but when you have to share amenities with other travelers, you may wonder how clean things are. When you have the run of the whole place, you know exactly how clean things are.

Add to that, we send in the maids every three days, so you get a fresh start at least twice a week.

The best news we can give you about Kapalina is, January is wide open. In a matter of days, you could be mixing drinks in the blender, floating in the pool, forgetting everything about your life back home.

Just, make sure you buy that return ticket far enough out so you get it all out of your system. Otherwise, we may be talking to you about home sales too.
