The Nai Harn Phuket proudly stands in a unique location in the south of Phuket and with a classic timeless design, the resort has always been very popular. Build on the hillside of Nai Harn Bay, it is the only resort offering such a unique view on this fabulous beach… and what beach! A large crescent of white and powdery sand bathing in a turquoise blue bay (well, during the high season at least).
Open in 1987, this 110 rooms resort was originally a Mandarin Oriental Hotel, then became later Le Royal Meridien Phuket Yacht Club and recently changed to be The Nai Harn Phuket, a private resort. From far, not much seems to really have changed since it became an independent hotel. But once you enter the resort, it is a completely different atmosphere. The best feature is certainly the rooftop from which you get a unique panorama of the Nai Harn bay below with the many yachts anchored in front of the islands and hills nearby.
The rooms are not very large but each of them comes with an oversized balcony and again, these amazing sea views. The pool is also a bit small but it never gets really busy, most guests seem to enjoy walking down to the beach.
Dining at The Nai Harn
The hotel features two restaurants: Cosmo and Rock Salt. Cosmo Restaurant is where you will enjoy an amazing breakfast with striking sea views. The breakfast buffet is one of the best on the island and the atmosphere is perfect for a holiday. Cosmo also serves all day Mediterranean, International and Thai cuisine from 9 am to 10 pm. This is a unique viewpoint to enjoy a sunset cocktail before dinner
Rock Salt Lounge and Bar is just above the sea and a staircase takes you directly onto the beach. A great place for an afternoon drink or snack, or even a seafood dinner later on. Tables are set on a terrace just above the blue waters of Nai Harn bay and protected from the sun by the shade of a giant almond tree.

What is around the resort
The Nai Harn is a bit far from the other popular beaches of Patong, Kata or Karon, and it is probably why guests choose to stay in Nai Harn which has been relatively spared by construction frenzy. You will need at least a bike to explore the south of the island which is peppered with lots of nice restaurants, or a car to go around the island, which you should do at least once.
If you plan to just stay around Nai Harn, there is not shortage of small restaurants on the beach itself, some convenience stores, a tailor and even a little fruit market to enjoy some really local sweets. Not far behind the hotel, you’ll find a small hidden beach of Ao Sane, great for a bit of exploration. Then of course further south are the beautiful windmill viewpoint, the small but lovely Ya Nui Beach and no better way to end the day than admiring the sunset from Phuket most famous landmark: Promthep Cape.
