SDR 11 Vs SDR 13.5 CPVC Pipes

When you are buying Cpvc Pipes in India, you need to choose between SDR 11 and SDR 13.5. They are not only different in thickness, but vary in pressure ratings.

SDR is Standard Dimension Ratio. SDR is a method for rating pressure piping. SDR= D/ S where 'D' is outer diameter and 'S' is pipe wall thickness (mm). A SDR 11 pipe is outer diameter  'D' of the pipe is eleven times the thickness 'S' of the wall diameter

  • A higher SDR means , a lesser pipe thickness with a lesser pressure rating.
  • A lower SDR means, a higher pipe thickness with lower pressure rating.
