Living Room Update: Drapery

If you follow me on instagram, you may remember this shot from a few weeks back. I was in the process of ordering Drapery, and couldn’t make up my mind about which fabric to use. Just as a reminder, this is what the drapery in the “before” looked like.

And this my friends, is the “after”.  (I went with the bottom fabric choice btw. A fabric called Snow White from Blinds.com)

I’m so in love with the texture of the fabric. And the length. Uhhhhh. I love how it pools together in just the right way on the floor.

Also, don’t pay attention to the curtain rings. I’m using old ones until the ones from Crate and Barrel arrive. (They are on backorder. Uhhh.) But the drapes! Oh the drapes!!!!!! Aren’t they gorgeous???? The ones I’ve chosen are pinch pleats from Blinds.com. And I can’t say enough nice things about this amazing company.

Initially I was a bit hesitant about ordering something like drapery online or over the phone. But honestly, I’m not sure why. Back in the day, I’d buy curtains out of plastic packages hanging from a rack at Target. With no idea how thick they were, if the dimensions would work or if they would match the rest of the room.)

You guys, the ordering process from measuring, choosing the proper fabric (we even went into detail about which direction the windows faced! So much attention to detail) to how they would hang….  They were just so incredible. And the quality….. Seriously, to notch you guys. Custom is 100% the only way to go from now on. To stand in this room now, words cannot describe how luxurious it feels, and what a difference a few panels can make.

If you are thinking about new drapery, definitely give Blinds.com a call. 1-800-505-1905 (Dixie was my rep and this woman knows her stuff. I can’t say enough nice things about her. She legit went above and beyond to help me throughout this process. I think I asked her probably about  1 Million questions, and I don’t know where else I would have received such personalized, amazing service.)

I love how they let just enough light in to give the room this beautiful glow. I’ve only had them having up for about a week, and I have to tell you. I’ve noticed a HUGE difference in how much cooler the room stays. Incredible.

Here are a few videos of me geeking when they just arrived. (Follow me on Snapchat at CarissaLS for more geeking out)

I’ll be posting quite a bit about the details of this makeover over the next few weeks. So stay tuned for those, as well as the big reveal coming up soon!
