Easy (And Cheap!) DIY Plant Makeover

I don’t have a green thumb guys. For real. I don’t. So this isn’t a post on how to keep your plants alive. I will probably NEVER be writing about that.

But.

I will be writing about how to make your plants look more “upscale”.

I’ve just wrapped up a gorgeous Belle Isle dining room Makeover. But before I share the photos, I wanted to share an easy makeover I did on a few plants in the space.

We started out with bunches of succulents which we grouped into a clear glass container. And do add a little drama and contrast, I picked up an Aloe Vera plant and popped it into a plain (cheap) Terra Cotta Pot.

But something about it didn’t look right. (Sorry I don’t have before photos!) Maybe it was that i didn’t want it to be the brown that tied the two plants together. I wanted it to be the green.

So thinking fast, I picked up a bag of rocks at Dollar Tree.

I scattered about a half of a bag on the top of the soil, (just enough to cover it) and voila! The grouping looked so much more put together. And brighter!

The Deets:

Succulents {The Home Depot Price Varies} // Aloe Vera Plants {The Home Depot $9.99} // Terra Cotta Pot {The Home Depot $2.98} // Rocks {Dollar Tree $1}

Also… Stay tuned for the Belle Isle Project reveal coming soon!
