A few (seriously) gorgeous trash cans. Seriously.

Trash cans are that one necessary evil that every Kitchen needs. It’s also the most neglected. Often times, we “settle” for the oddly shaped black or white rubber option on sale at the local big box store. Who wants that? Who? Not me. Not this girl. I didn’t put marble counter tops and Lew’s Hardware in this bishh just to bring it all downhill with a clunky old trashcan.

When designing a kitchen, especially one that doesn’t afford the space for the convenience of a built in one like my kitchen, your options are limited. i.e. That baby is a gonna go out in the open. For the whole world to see.  In modern times however, kitchens are designed to go under or near the sink. It makes for easy food prep, it’s hidden, and hides all the grossness that goes in a trashcan. Well, in my little 1920’s bungalow, the cabinets are TINY. I couldn’t put in a built in anywhere even if I tried. It’s just too small, and there’s no darn space. So I’m stuck with the task of searching for one that meshes well with the current aesthetic I’ve got going on. (Read: white, brass, clean lines… you know what I mean.) And it made me really sad. The last thing I wanted to do was junk up this beautiful kitchen with a clunky old rubber trash can.

Until…. I started researching. And surprisingly, there are some really gorgeous ones out there. Really. There are. Most of the ones, if not all, are by a brand called Simple Human. I mean, they have a ROSE GOLD one. ROSE GOLD. And white! Good Lord. Finally someone has brought it with the trashcan design.

So, if you could choose any of the above, which one would you choose for my bungalow kitchen?
