Mesta Park Holiday Home Tour

The Mesta Park annual holiday home tour is like a rite of passage each year for me into the holiday season. This particular area of Oklahoma City is legend to locals, but a hidden gem to newbies in the area. Located near my neck of the woods, its chalk full of older, historic homes. And, of course, they are all AMAZING.

Each year residents hold a holiday home tour to show off not only their holiday decorating skills, but also the renovations they have done.

And here’s the kicker ya’ll. Mesta Park is under what is known as HP. AKA Historic Preservation. Because of the period the homes were built in, residents like to keep everything to period. Or at least close to it. If it’s a home that was built in the 20’s, you won’t see windows that don’t look like they were built in that time period or doors, or paint colors or crazy add ons. Everything looks like it did back in the day structurally speaking. But the insides…. Woah. So good.

This year I dragged one of my besties along for the ride. It wasn’t freezing just yet, so we started off in the Central Park in the middle of the neighborhood. We were given a guide when we purchased our tickets with a listing of all the homes to walk to.

Because it wasn’t frigid like it is today, I was able to go sans jacket. But I did opt for these fun Chase and Chloe OTK boots. You know how I love to wear all black… But these boots were a great way to mix up my usual monotone style. Plus, I’m loving the over the knee look lately too.

We walked around for nearly two hours and literally the entire time my jaw was wide open.

Here are a few of my favorite parts. Starting with this gorgeous blue chevron tile. Isn’t it a dream? It was in the most amazing guest house. I couldn’t tell if it was original or not, but my lord. It was beautiful. If it wasn’t original, it may have been fire tile clay or cement tile?

This may have been what actually inspired me to hang wreaths from my windows. Doesn’t this look like something form a One King’s Lane instagram post? What a cute idea, right?

This bathroom was so beautiful. I loved everything about it. All the white tile. The brushed brass. The white paint. Errrrrrrthang. So good.

The other amazing thing about these homes is the view. They are all MASSIVE. And have gorgeous views of the streets below them. Which is what I tried to capture here, except I was so giddy and happy and probably giggling that I got nothing (Except for my pretty friend Angela!). Uhhhhh. You just have to see these homes in person. So gorgeous. Living in this neighborhood one day is definitely a goal.
