If you’ve been following along, you know how thrilled I am to be chosen as one of 50 Charlotte Russe It Girls! (Read all about it here.) For the next year I get to show off a few of my most favorite looks and I couldn’t be more excited!
You all know what a sucker I am for beautiful surroundings. I Love creating beautiful and inviting spaces. But I also love dressing and feeling confident. There’s nothing like being able to walk into a client meeting or big event and feeling like you own the room. It’s the best feeling ever.
To do this, I have to feel prepared. (i.e. Bringing my clients a kick butt design plan or tackling a really difficult project and not having a melt down.) But another piece of that, is wearing something that brings out my best features and makes me feel like I look the part. I’ve always loved myself in red. It’s a power color for sure. (Side note: In South East Asia, where I grew up, red is considered good luck. Just saying…) And this dress is nothing short of a statement piece. I can’t wait to wear it to one of the holiday parties i’ve got coming up.
The dress has a deep V in the front which I LOVE. But I’m also in love with this fun blazer cape. It gives the illusion that you’re wearing a boyfriend’s blazer, but the genius part are the hidden slips for your arms. It looks like it’s just resting on my shoulders, but it won’t fall off because there is a place for my arms. Brilliant. I’ll definitely be pairing it with a few other pieces this winter.
The necklace was a fun touch too. It’s just simple enough that it doesn’t overpower the brightness of the dress.
And the black heel, well, always a classic. I love how these are velvet. (Which is one of my favorite trends this season.)
The Deets:
