Green for Days + The Truth about Body Suits

If you’ve seen the Big Living Room Makeover, than you already know. I love Green. Like, LOVE it.

And when I say love, I don’t mean just like, a mild infatuation. I mean, legit, L-O-V-E it. It reminds me of so many good and happy things. (Singapore, the jungle, Summer, Nowata and the Verdigris river, jewelry etc. etc.)

So when I began the living room renovation, I knew I had to incorporate green somehow. Originally, I’d thought about doing it via the wall color. The walls were going to get a new coat of paint no matter what. (They REALLY needed it. So why not incorporate green?)

After some soul searching, I decided not to. Why? Because that would be A LOT of green. And I’d had my heart set on a green velvet couch too. I mean, it could work. I would have made it work. But sometimes, I think it’s ok to take a step back, and let one or two things really shine. So I chose a really beautiful bright white paint color from Sherwin-Williams. (In, ahem, Bright White)

And by not stealing the couch’s thunder, I think the walls really stood out on their own too. It’s like, “Dayyyy-ummm. Would ya’ look at that? Now that’s a bright room”

And I’ve even been gravitating toward green clothing. Like this green Body Suit. Which I might love so much that I want it in every color. Seriously. I love it that much.

The first time I wore a body Suit, I thought it would be my last. It was a trend a few years back and I wanted on board. Unfortunately, the body suit I’d purchased did NOT fit me the way I’d envisioned it. It looked ridiculous actually. I can’t even tell you why. But I can say that it definitely did NOT suit me. Plus going to the ladies involved basically taking every stitch of clothing completely off. It. Was. Horrible.

Fast forward a few years later… And I came across this body suit by Zara. Originally I’d thought it was a blouse. And it wasn’t until it arrived at my house (That rhyme was NOT intentional.) that I realized that it was actually a body suit. Fully intending on returning it for something else, I humored one of my girlfriends and wore it out for drinks one night. To my surprise, I kind of liked it.

I think it may have been the blousey thing that was going on instead of the sleek tucked into your pants version. Plus, there were snaps. And truthfully, that was the real game changer.
