GoPro Karma Grip in it’s case with included accessories.
With the GoPro Karma grip finally making it to market. Making GoPro cameras a more complete video making solution. There has been stabilizers on the market prior to the GoPro Karma grip. These stabilizers did a good job, but GoPro just doesn’t bring something to market half way. Karma grip is a very well designed stabilizer gimbal. This shows through in it’s materials with smooth rubber grip surface. Any good film maker or photographer knows you need good tools to get amazing shots. The GoPro Karma grip is just that, a tool enabling you to capture smooth shake free video.
With Karma grip at a suggested retail of $299 making it just as much as a GoPro camera itself. If you think of it this way a 4k video camera can cost you in the starting range of $900. Like the Panasonic HC-WXF991K 4K Ultra HD Camcorder. If you were to get a GoPro Hero5 Black camera and the GoPro Karma grip, you are still only at $700 for the pair. In addition with a GoPro you get a mountable easy to take with you action camera and a stabilizing gimbal. As a result this combo is a much more versatile system at $200 less.
Most of all after using the Karma grip it does exactly what it is supposed to. Delivering smooth video captures with no expertise required. Yet the biggest positive for the GoPro stabilizer is that anyone can film with it. GoPro has seemed to always make their gear clean and simple. Targeted at the mass market enabling everybody to quote GoPro “Be a Hero”. Is this good or bad? I personally think it is good. While sometimes this would make you think of dull feature less gear. The GoPro Karma grip is far from that. Any tool that makes things easier and produces better quality, therefore for me this is a win.
Karma grip is not waterproof, but I tested in a light rain with no problems.

What do you think is it worth it to get buttery smooth footage from your GoPro camera? I certainly do. In conclusion I think this piece of gear is a real game changer for the GoPro camera. Making it a much more versatile camera system.
