Flickr and Smugmug are now under one umbrella. Both have been around for quite some time. Smugmug, I had very little history with them until recently. Some photographers I’ve gotten to know very well this past decade are featured on it, and they are very successful. With all that in mind, I’ve finally taken it upon myself to join the bandwagon, as it were, case in point…
So it’s official for myself as well. And seeing that we live in the age of consolidation and companies becoming mega-conglomerates left and right (reminds me of the clay and iron prophecy in the Bible). I wasn’t “feeling it” with Flickr anymore. Flickr was just dying off, in my opinion, and Smugmug already has help me breathe new life into my craft as a photographer. I bought a new DSLR, a MacBook, and a new iPhone in recent years, so I am set and ready to get into the fray of photography.
This time, I hope to take things to a whole new level because of the merger. Who knows? I may resurface my old website either here on WordPress or Smugmug.
Whatever happens, I’m willing to give the brass ring one last tug. This might just resurrect my love of photography.
