Giving Summer The Cold Shoulder (Or How to Dress Transitionally)

Not quite chilly, yet not quite sweltering out? No problem. Welcome to Transitional Dressing 101, ironically brought to you by the girl who lives in winter and summer climes exclusively. Here, I will provide you with my limited tips (again, I live in a perpetual state of weather extremes) for dressing when you're in-between seasons. Ready? Here we go. Step one— grab a pair of jeans; step two— pair them with a light, yet long-sleeved top of some sort (and where possible, expose one shoulder to symbolize the in-between state you find yourself in; you're so deep). Finally, consult your trusty weather app to ascertain whether closed or open toe shoes are in your best interest (a crucial step to your transitional-dressing success). Grab a light jacket or cardi to be on the safe side, and don't forget to cling to your summery accessories for dear life— you won't be seeing those suckers again for some time.

All kidding aside, dressing for unpredictable weather is a serious pain in the you-now-what, and although I experienced both hot and cold flashes while wearing it the other day, I just couldn't resist this striped button-up from Topshop. It literally is the perfect blend of Summer and Fall, all in one cute, eye-catching garment. I guess all I can really say when it comes to transitional dressing is that one way or the other, you're going to end up a little too warm or cold regardless of what you wear— just an occupational hazard of the season, I guess. Luckily PSLs are being served up both hot and cold right now, so take solace in that, friends.
