Strolling and Shopping at Barceloneta

Sunday might not be the best day of the week to plan for a Shopping spree in Barcelona because not all stores and malls are open. We’ve been to Barcelona three times but we only learnt about stores and malls are closed on Sundays on our third trip there. We usually go shopping at any El Corte Ingles in town but the hotel receptionist told us that most of the malls were closed on Sundays. We were surprised to hear about this and knowing that flocks of tourists visit Barcelona all-year-round.

So what we did was find somewhere else in the city to spend our Sunday afternoon. My husband wanted to see the huge W Barcelona Hotel and we decided to sit at the bar for a couple of cold drinks. It was one hot summer’s day, by the way.

Since the hotel is so close to Barceloneta Beach we planned for a stroll. We are not beach people though but we like to be at the waterfront whenever we get a chance.

Just when we were walking towards the beach we saw this Desigual store and it seemed to be open anyhow. Another discovery we made was learning that Desigual is a Barcelona-based Spanish clothing brand. You might have guessed what we did next.

Just shopped a little

Some photos around W Barcelona Hotel

I attempted to take a panoramic image of the entire Desigual Headquarter and including part of the Barcelona Beach. Our stroll was cut short and instead we cooled off at the store.
