Volvo C70 – The Car That Served Us Well

Tags: volvo road served

We decided to pass on to others our Volvo C70 cabriolet early this year. After having it for nearly seven years, we thought it’s time to say goodbye to a specially-made car that we’re privileged to own. I remember Leif saying when we bought it, “We only live once; we may as well drive a cabriolet”. Surely indeed. Why not treat yourself to a lavish lifestyle when you’ve got the means. It wasn’t that expensive as anyone would think.

Volvo C70: 2014-2021

Our love for Road trips led us to buy a cabriolet or a so-called convertible car. We both loved the colour and how it suited perfectly the kind of car it is. It was absolutely an eye-catcher on the road. I remember a couple of times, some people just stopped and said, “nice car you have”. We drove it for the first time to Italy, and the farthest it reached was to Spain.

Summer road trip 2016 to Prague

With the rise of environment-friendly cars, the Volvo C70 was becoming expensive to maintain, especially the tax we had to pay each year. While it is basically a summer car, we also learned, though, from experience that it wasn’t comfortable driving it in hot weather with the top down.

The first joyride

It’s always hard to let go of something dear, but we managed. It wasn’t a life necessity. It was just something we wanted to have, and we’re grateful that we could have had what we wanted. It might be the first and last Volvo we owned; however, we took good care of it and valued it. And it Served us well, just the same.
